Help Identifying the year of a Gilette safety razor - maybe from 1908??

Hello-

I stumbled across this razor at a garage sale and snagged it. It is a single ring, diamond Gilette razor, razor box, and what appears to be the original case. Based on what I could find on google, it looks like a 1908. Any help/comments on the year and value would be appreciated! Thanks.

No numbers...it is a clean shaft.

That gap refers to the serials on New Improveds. None of the Old Types were serial numbered after 1921.

True, i read that on Waits Compendium after 1921 not numbered.

Thanks guys. The link Amish sent looks exactly like it...except for the "Gillette" on the box. For a garage sale find...I am pretty happy!

The razor is spot on...the case is what I was referring to. My case has "Gillette" on it while the photo doesn't. Just a small difference.

Would that be becuase it is a specific year's design (while Mr. Razor's is representing a range of years)?

Also - how would you recommend I clean it?
