Heavenly Band Lineup

So I do this from time to time with my friends. The rules are simple:
- All chosen band members must be deceased
- One instrument per member (i.e., they can't play bass AND guitar in your band)
- Caveat to the above: the member can be the lead vocalist (or back up vocals) and still play an instrument
- Optional: give your band a name

Mine:
Freddie Mercury (lead vocals)
Stevie Ray Vaughan (guitar / backup vocals)
Jack Bruce (Bass / backup vocals)
Keith Moon (drums)
Billy Powell (keyboard / piano)

(don't have a name... Probably should given that I'm starting this thing lol)

feel free to question band member selections. Like, I chose SRV over Hendrix because he can play the same style AND sing if needed

Janis and the Groovers

(It's a crappy name, but it's all I could think of with a rhythm section of Phil and John AND Billy on the Hammond)

Janis Joplin (Lead vocals)
Duane Allman (Lead guitar)
Bill Haley (Rhythm guitar/backup vocals)
Phil Lynott (Bass/ backup vocals)
John Bonham (drums)
Billy Preston (keyboard/backup vocals)

Keyboards--Nicky Hopkins
Lead Guitar--Jimi Hendrix
Rhythm Guitar & backup vocals--John Lennon
Bass & backup vocals--John Entwistle
Drums--Gene Krupa

(It's a crappy name, but it's all I could think of with a rhythm section of Phil and John AND Billy on the Hammond)

Janis Joplin (Lead vocals)
Duane Allman (Lead guitar)
Bill Haley (Rhythm guitar/backup vocals)
Phil Lynott (Bass/ backup vocals)
John Bonham (drums)
Billy Preston (keyboard/backup vocals)

id buy their album in a heartbeat

got another:
The Johnny Boys

John Belushi (vocals) - the man could sing blues with the best of 'em
John Bonham (drums)
John Lennon (rhythm guitar / backup vocals)
Johnny Winter (lead guitar)
John Entwhistle (Bass)

This is going to be a ROCK band . . .

Vocalist - Freddie Mercury. any other choice for front man is simply inadequate, with the possible exception of Jim Morrison.
Keyboards - Jon Lord.
Lead Guitar - James Marshall Hendrix
Rhythm Guitar - Malcolm Young when the time comes, but for now, Gary Moore.
Bass Guitar - Tough choice between Phil Lynott and the Ox, John Entwistle. Lynott is probably more innovative, but no one lays down a backbeat combo with the drums like Entwistle. I think either one is an acceptable choice, for different reasons. I would take Entwistle.
Drummer - John Bonham. His power, with Entwhistle's grooves? THUNDEROUS MAGIC.

Based on my favorites...mine would be:

Vocals - Ronnie James Dio
Guitar - Randy Rhoads
Guitar - Robbin Crosby
Bass - Cliff Burton
Drums - Eric Carr

Nice! Dio's soaring vocals with Randy shredding and Cliff thundering on bass? Words cannot describe what a sensation that would be....
