Hard Water - In praise of QCS and MdC

In my most recent overseas move I left a few soaps and creams in my household goods, and traveled light. Where I was, Kailua, HI, and where I am, Viña del Mar, Chile, have completely different water, a factor I had not considered.

While the soaps, croaps and creams I traveled with performed admirably in the new conditions, it wasn’t the same as in soft water; I bought distilled water from the local dry cleaners and overcame.

After having received my goods on Monday, I shaved with QCS Monaco soap (Tuesday), QCS Briar Cream (Wednesday) QCS Vostok Cream (Thursday), and MdC today, I can without a doubt say my hard water issues are over.

What are some of the hard water performers in your experience?

Mike

I have always found Tabac to be the absolute best in hard water, followed closely by Dr. Harris soaps. My QCS dosent impress me with my water, and i have yet to try MDC. Enjoy your shave!

I find Tabac, MWF, Kells Original, Strop Shoppe w/tallow + w/out tallow, St. Charle's Shave, Speick soap w/ tallow + cream, and Palmolive cream to all perform very well w/ hard water.

ive used tobs, hirsh, co bigelow (prorasso) and aos lemon with the hard water i have in lawrence ks. all have gotten a good lather, even though it has taken a little more time to get there.

I've used TOBS and AoS creams with my hard water, and have been able to get a good lather (after beating it like crazy in a bowl first of course)
