Gents,
Currently I use a bristle from one of my old shaving brushes. I have found that assessing whether the blade bites or cuts from the thinner end (white tip side) on silvertip badger has been more than sufficient for assessing sharpness. I know that if its gonna bite in the same direction of the hair shingles it will definitely bite against them. I.e- when I do the same HHT on my fiance's fine hair from the root end, it cuts just as well.
I know the shave test is the gold standard, but my beard doesnt grow that fast!
I dont have a ready supply of her hair except for the occasional leftover brush hair.
Any suggestions?
