What's new

hair gel?

has anyone ever used the art of shaving hair gel? is for slicking your back or can you use somewhat like mouse for any hair do?

It isn't a rock hard "spike" gel. It has more of a natural feel but in no way as soft as mouse. It smells great!

Have you tried T&H C.A.R cream? it is kind of between a mouse and gel.

What are some recommendations for rock hard stuff?

I use Got2B hair glue and it works wonderfully.

Rock Hard = LA Looks.

I have a tube of Gillette actually, it is cheap and doesn't make your hard hard. I only use it when my hair is in getting a little long on the one spot in the back and sticks up...I keep my hair short but that one spot likes to stick up when it's in between buzzed and grown out. :001_rolle

I wear flat tops or fades all the time so I keep LA Looks level 8 Orange Hair Jell in my Den. I found if I mix it with a little dab of water before I run it through my damp hair that when I blow dry it stands up all day but is not overly hard.

Wow...I was kidding about the LA Looks...just saw it in a grocery store and thought to myself, "wow, they STILL sell this stuff? I used it in the 80s!"

I use American Crew gel. Ridiculously overpriced (I think its $13 for a bottle) but I REALLY like the smell. So I'm willing to pay a little extra for it.

Currently I'm using Woody's Styling Gel. It has a light/medium hold, and is not shiny or "crunchy". The scent is very very mild (wood & citrus) almost exactly like the shampoo.

I also have American Crew Fiber, but it doesn't get used that often.
