Guess the Song

I wanted to see if this would be possible, like the "Guess the Movie" thread.

I realize that is could be pretty difficult, but I wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for guidelines? Could we give the hint as the artist or the album name and then we have to guess the song from the lyrics?

Here is the first attempt. It is the first verse of the song. It was released in 1971. The drummer of the band is no longer with us.

Hey, hey, mama, said the way you move,
Gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove.
Ah, ah, child, way you shake that thing,
Gonna make you burn, gonna make you sting.
Hey, hey, baby, when you walk that way,
Watch your honey drip, can't keep away.

Black Dog.

One of my favorite lyrics, more obscure, but not "out there" by any measure:

I sold my blood for money
There wasn't any pain
Now I just can't stand the feeling
Its in someone else's veins.

From a major label debut album in 1998 that had one huge hit on it and made it as high as number 9.

OK, this might be a bit more obscure:

There are those moments and they just never fade
The look in her eyes and the way the light played
God moved in that moment and the angels all cried
And they gave you a memory that you have till you die
And the lessons you learn and you don't dare forget
What makes you grow old is replacing hope with regret

Hints:

The songwriter recently passed away.

Also recorded by a popular female country star.

Bonnie Rait sang it.

Folks, it has been an hour since I posted this. And I don't want to hold up the game while I sleep.

And, I think Stubblefield knew this one. So...

The answer is "Too Many Memories" written by Stephen Bruton and recorded by Patty Lovelace.

The next person to reply can proceed...

From a famous rock artist. He recently reunited his first band and released an album:

Yeah, I am a loser
At the top of my game
I should have known
To keep an eye on you
Now I got a God
It ain't never the same
Yeah, I got a dream
That don't ever come true

Any guesses?

Here's an easy one:

Million young poets
Screamin out their words
To a world full of people
Just livin to be heard
Future generations
Ridin´on the highways that we built
I hope, that they have better understanding

Took me a little while to get this one. It is Scare Easy by Mudcrutch. I am not a huge Tom Petty fan, but I like some of his work. I will post another song in a minute.

Here is one, circa 1982. Hint: I knew a girl that loved this group. If she wasn't rock'n me, she always wanted to fly like an eagle.

I heat up, I cant cool down
You got me spinnin
round and round
round and round and round it goes
Where it stops nobody knows

Ok, here is one that should be pretty easy...

Well, I'll be damned
Here comes your ghost again
But, that's not unusual.
It's just that the moon is full
And you happened to call

I will provide hints if necessary...

You got it strat...

I am including a youtube video of a great performance by Joan. Maybe this will create a little more fun...
