So, today was an exciting day for me. I finally got my long awaited Chrome Futur in!! I can't wait to shave with this bad boy. It sure makes my Fatboy seem light as a feather. Any suggestions on what setting to start at? 1? 1.5?

Congrats! I recently got one also, and I started at 1.5 for the first few shaves and then moved up to 2 which seems to suit me just fine, so I have left it there.

Alright, here's the post-game review:
It was simply astonishing. I have used quite a few razors since starting out, but none this darn smooth. I started at about 1.5, and cranked it up to 2 near the second pass. I got a great shave, although it will take some time to get used to the feel of holding such a hefty razor, and also how to maneuver it across my face. All in all, it was a fun shave. I can't wait till tomorrow!!!

I would shave at 88 MPH and your wiskers will go back in time, thus making them shorter.
Do you have a Flux Capacitor? Otherwise, this all seems impossible.

Maybe they should make a vibrating model power by a Mr. Fusion!

They could give it a hover-conversion so it can glide across your face without any user effort at all!!

Interestingly enough, I shaved for years (and learned my way around my first DE) with my Futur set to 3--using Merkur blades, no less.

I think its really good that the Futur's getting so much attention lately. When I first registered with B&B it had a distinctly suspect rep, which was a bit unsetling as it was the only DE I had. I might even have described it ( to myself at least) as a classic whose time had not yet come.

I really love how different it looks from any DE out there. It's such an extreme difference from the Slant or Fatboy I use.

Alrighty, night #2 results:
My technique of holding the razor has greatly improved. I noticed that I was able to keep a better grip on the handle by slightly modifying where I placed my fingers. It worked especially well when doing a XTG pass.
I've settled on leaving it on 2 for now, to keep it a constant while I figure out what works best for me. Although, I noticed last night and tonight I had slight irritation on my upper lip. Now, it could just be because I'm still finding my angle of attack, and the fact that the Futur shaves so smooth that sometimes I have to reshave an area just to be sure!
I'll most likely start to dial down while on the upper lip, but I'll hold off that until a few more tries with where it's at, just to be sure. All in all, still a great shave. I can't wait until tomorrow!
