What's new

Got it at last !

Hey guys

Having tried and tried ........and tried to get the hang of DE shaving I think at long last I've actually cracked it.

I have always had great results from straight razors ,which for some reason unknown to me came as almost second nature ,the shaves are always irratation free and smooth enough { my definition of smooth has since changed}

I have at the same time tried on and off with various DE's ,sometimes for weeks at at time some times months and always with results ranging from quite decent to impossibly bad ,and of course all the soreness and redness my face can muster .

for the last 3 weeks though I have stuck with one blade type and one razor in an effort to crack the technique { basically what everyone has always said !}.
This morning I resulted in a very near BBS shave ,which although I've read about was something I had never experienced myself,even the missus could tell my face was smoother.

Everything ,and I do mean everything is a result of this site and all you amazing helpful people ,so thank you for all the advice and help everyones ever given me in the past :001_smile:001_smile

Well congrats!!

Care to shed some light on the combo you finally decided on?

Thank you mate
I have been using either TOBS Avocado or BODY SHOP shave cream { I like to change smells on a morning}

Always ASTRA blades { all the rest hurt me }

As for the razor a took the long handle of my Merkur classic 23c and put on the shorter handle from the 25c .

kept reading Leisure Guys Gourmet shaving and kept looking on here

Then concentrated like a concentraty thing on a concentraty day on my angle and lack of pressure .

Dont think the razor or the soap make that much of a difference ,it's all technique ..............which is the only thing you cant buy :frown:
