Good creme that doesn't require a brush?

So far all of the software I've used has required a brush, which is fine for myself.
My dad is all for switching back to DE but doesn't want to whip up a lather every day...

Is there anything on the market that goes from tube to face and works well after just rubbing it in & on?
I can see a product like this working well on the road if guys don't have a travel brush too.

Any suggestions?

There are creams that are designed to be brushless such as creamo (which I'v never used).

I have often done quick shaves by simply massaging some cream into my beard. after showering while my is still wet. The very act of massaging shave cream into your beard will build a think coat of a viscous lather.

I will provide lubrication, some protection allowing for a SAS. The creams that I have used this way are C.O. Bigelow's rebranded Prorasso and Real Shaving Co., Moisturizing cream. Yet I imagine that it would work with most shave creams as creams inherently lather quicker and more easily than soaps.

I'll look into Cremo -
I've tried crèmes before with a wet face, and I'm sure I used too much, because it ended up like a paste vs a lather on my face.
I dug the smell and kept on going despite the fact it was clogging my Mach III something fierce :001_smile

Kiss My Face Moisture Shave. It's a perennial favorite among B&B members, comes in seven scents (including unscented) in both tubes and pumps, is inexpensive, widely available in most health food stores and some supermarkets like Whole Foods, and most importantly, can be used with or without a brush (it's marketed as brushless).

A simple search on B&B will yield numerous reviews. I favor the peppermint - it tingles!:001_smile

Cremo is also good as a brushless cream, but its marginal if used with a brush.

The brushless creams I have used are Cremo, KMF, Lucky Tiger Liquid Shave Cream and Pacific Shaving Company. I've had good results with all of them both brushless and will a brush. The other brushless cream I have used is Lucky Tiger Molle, but that one doesn't work with a brush at all.

I'll 3rd KMF. I keep the mint variety on hand for shaving in a hurry. It gives good protection used brushless, and when I'm in an experimental mood it makes really nice superlathers with just about any soap.

Nancy Boy (Signature) is one of my favorite shave creams. It's billed as being brushless, although it is noted that one can use a brush if desired.

I invariably use it with a brush.

Creams I've happily shaved with just palm smoothing and palm lathering on my face: CO Bigelow, Proraso Red, KMF, Real Shaving Company Old Fashioned Shave Cream.

Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile liquid soap is also a favorite for just palm lathering. I use this for bathing in the shower, and when I'm rushing, I'll simply palm lather this with just a few strokes on my face and get a great shave in the shower.

I've tried this with a few soaps, and some of them work fine for palm lathering, too. The key is using less than you would with a brush and giving them time to hydrate. Either let your puck or the end of your shave stick sit in water while you prep and/or give them a nice 1/2 minute as you palm lather them into your face with a good amount of water and you can get a very nice shave that way, too. Use less than you would brush lathering on your face, because with a brush 2/3 of the lather is intended to stay on your brush for passes two and three.

I've recently been re-exploring brush face lathering, now that I've got my bowl lathering skills fully whipped up. I rub the cream or soap right on my beard and then work it up in about half a minute with my boar. I'm noticing I can get a great lather in about 1/3-1/2 the time and effort of bowl lathering, easier on the wrist and arm. Yeah, I could go on face lathering for that extra 30 to 45 seconds and get more volume, but it's not necessary. And, it feels fantastic. Make sure your brush (especially boar) is thoroughly soaked first, then extra water shaken off (getting the right amount is key, different than bowl lathering, and different for each soap and cream). Check it out.

I'll add a couple to the mix: AOS cream and Body Shop Maca Root cream. Both are better used with a brush (IMO) but work just fine without one.

I have both Cremo and Lucky Tiger Molle and they both work well. I prefer the Cremo, though, as it is a bit more slick and smells much better. The Molle doesn't smell terrible, but it's not particularly nice, either.

Dreadnought. Not sure if it is a brushless but I use it as my travel cream and it lathers nicely. Ditto on Eshave Rose.
