Golden Anniversary veterans?

A recent thread asking just when members started wet shaving got me thinking. I've been at it for 53 or 54 years as best I can figure. And with minor deviations to try DE, double edged carts, and the like over the years, I've remained a dedicated single edge injector fan.

So, I am a veteran wet shaver who has passed his golden anniversary. How many others have been at it for over 50 years?

Add me to the "Golden Vintage" members. It's been 53-years since I started face scraping with lots of different types of "weapons." IMO, shaving continues to get better thanks to the input from the outstanding members of B&B.

Enjoy your shaves.

Don, knlgskr,

Heck guys, maybe if there's enough of us the mods might grant / create a new "old geezer" 50 years of wet shaving "badge" to add to our military veteran ones! LOL

I started shaving in '63, so next year I would qualify for the 'Geezer Badge'.

I really didn't learn to shave until I came to B&B a few years back, though.

When your feeling old, find a group of older guys to hang out with. It's all a matter of reference. I've only been scraping for 40 years, you old geezers!

Always glad to hear from a young whippersnapper! hehehehehehehehe

I started shaving regular at 16. I'm 46 now, that's 30 years. So what was it like to have to hide from the T-Rex's?

Let's see now, started in 1962 so I reckon I'm at 50 yrs right now. And none of it was enjoyable till I discovered the traditional wet shaving boards and actually "learned" what I was supposed to be doing all that time.

I retired 10 years ago and really slowed down and enjoyed shaving so much more.

Interesting. I hadn't thought about it until you both commented but you're right. There's no rush anymore (I retired in early '07) and that makes the whole evolution much more enjoyable!

Battled my first peach fuzz in 1962-'63.

Despite my dad's laughter, I did so with a brush, a "Grand Ship Turk" Old Spice Mug and a Gillette DE loaded with a Marlin Blue.

I think the fuzz won that one.
