Gold Dachs

I believe this soap is the Mercedes among the shaving soaps, sold out and everyone wants it. I could not find it on the review page here.

What makes this soap so good?

I would not call it the Mercedes per se, but it is a very good soap with a great clean scent and excellent lather that does a nice job softening the beard.

Easy, easy, easy to lather, nice protection and a pleasant, mild scent. Also, its pH has been altered (more alkaline?) to soften the beard a little better.

I believe I got the tin when I ordered the soap from Manufactum. If you don't want to pay the shipping from Europe and/or endure the wait, you can get the same soap from Classic Shaving, only it is called Rivivage.

This is one of the few soaps that irritated my face, L'Occitane was another.
Just throwing it out for informational purposes. Damm good shave otherwise.

You're correct, however, according to Jim's picture, it's not the Gold Dachs tin.

The Dovo soap in a travel container is Gold Dachs,

if i remember correctly, classic, VB, and emsplace all carry it. it's only $8 or $9 dollars a puck with some vendors.

I have ordered a couple of times from that Dutch shop. I don't speak a lick of Dutch so the ordering process is a little painful. Yet they are responsive, friendly and ship very quickly.

Gentlemen,

I found the fragrance of Gold Dachs clean and refreshing and the lather rich and lubricant. Half way through the shave, though, I forgot all about that, because the blasted soap torched my face. After a few burning shaves I surrendered and sent the soap into exile.

Regards,

Obelit

Seems like a great soap, but I'm curious about the potential for irritation. Can someone post the ingredients of this soap? Thanks.
