Just got on eBay a 1956 Gillette Superspeed "Red" tip. Anyone out there notice that the red paint can be rubbed off if cleaned too harsh by applying too much pressure?

Well, one day when it get real bad I'll put some red automotive paint on it. That will surely last.
Thats the way I feel we touch up vintage cars so why not razors.

Others have found the appropriate shade for this. I believe it's "International Red" named after International Harvester, perhaps?

You would have to rub pretty hard, IMHO.
I never cleaned the tips on red tips when I had them.
