Gillette Slim Box Colors?

As my collection is expanding I am noticing that the slim boxes have different colored inlays - I've seen gold, red, and black so far. Are these corrolated to production years and if so could anyone tell me which years?

I have two 1965 Slim adjustables. One has red, the other gold. Even though they were purchased from sellers that specialize in razors only and they were nearly perfect, they weren't nos so I don't know if the colors mean anything as far as years made goes. They could be cases from other sets and switched to match the condition of the razor.

How odd is it we both posted threads on this very same topic, within an hour of each other? From what I can gather, some 1963, 1964 and 1965 slims came in a plastic case with a blue inlay and also the plastic whole bottom of the actual case is a lighter blue. I did a search on Ebay and the ones there with a case is how I determined this.

Thanks - I saw one eBay item where the seller said that the gold inlay was the "correct" color for a '62 slim, but I can't find any corroboration, and some eBay sellers will say just about anything to make a sale so I'm not sure that constitutes a trustworthy source!
