Gillette razor question, K-1. Gillette Fatboy

Hello everybody, I have just a quick question about my find of the day at the flea market. Now I know from the Gillette Date Codes that this razor is from 1965, the year after they quite making the Gillette Fatboy. But, comparing it to my black beauty the handle is shorter. So is it a Gillette Slim? Did they make a shorter handled version?

Here's a picture of it with my Gillette 40s Super Speed and My 1970 P-1 Gold Black Beauty

That is my most common find at estate sales. I wonder how many GIllette actually sold back in the day? Anyone know the stats?

Yes enjoy your Slim. Many here speak highly of this model and as it being a refinement of the FatBoy.
Tell us how you like it.

It just so happens that that is the razor I just made ready for this week.

1965 Slim - my bday quarter. I have one too, cased and mint...afraid to use it. I'll have to soon as I sold my Slim workhorse.

They were sold at a very high rate, it one of the most sold adjustable razors of the time. They are every where on many selling sites, i have a NOS Slim in a sealed package, one of many NOS i am sure..

And I shall do a little update review, since I just finished running a blade through it. I have shaved 5 times with this Slim Adjustable using a Personna Blue.
The balance of this razor is honestly lovely, imagine a heavy slightly longer 40's Super speed and you'll know that the balance is almost perfect in the hand.
I set it on 5 for all 5 shaves, to gauge it's aggressiveness. For me, my face, blade, and all that jazz. I quite liked it. I shall next time use it on 4 on the first shave and 6 for the rest. My reasons are simple: I found that the Personna's are quite sharp enough that first shave that it didnt need that 5, slightly too much for my liking. And a 6 for the final shave along my jawline I got slight redness and skin irritation, and I think a slightly higher set of 6 will make it so I can get the most out of my blades and still enjoy them.
Comparing it to the 40's Super Speed, shave 5 resulted in my neck having a few spots were the hair could have turned to ingrowns. so for me the aggressiveness of the Slim really already works very well for me.
I would easily recommend all to try one, really like others say, you can pretty much dial to your perfect razor, I shall be bringing this razor along with me on my travels for work.
Plus for the price of $5 I can't find a single thing to fault this razor with. Easily within my top razors. If I could only have one closed comb, this would be it.
