Gillette platinum

I'm just wondering how sharp these are compared to feather blades. I've been shaving with gillette platinum for two shaves now, and I did feel a slight difference from merkur's blades. I can't tell if gillette's are sharper, though. I sort of didn't feel the blade on my skin as much as I did with merkur's, but perhaps the lather has something to say also. Anyway, I've been shaving for almost two weeks now, and without any nicks and cuts! I've even done a couple of atg passes, as well as xtg. Wasn't really that hard:thumbup1: I'll just use wtg from now on for a month or so, as I've been experiencing a little bumps and some burn (mostly on my chin). BTW, xtg passes feel great, hehe. There's something with those passes. Might be my favourite:thumbup1:

So, back to the blades. How sharp are gillette platinum?

"Swedish" Gillette Platinum blades are highly thought of blades. Sharp, smooth, and long-lasting are some of the accolades people throw out about them. Unfortunately, they are no longer being made, so procuring them is difficult at best.

I think the Feather is a tad sharper, but definitely not as smooth. If you like the Swedes, look for older Gillette Spoilers or Platinum Plus, as they yield a similar shave. The Spoilers are pretty easy to come by on the Bay. Another nice blade(s) is the Iridium Super and the Gillette Yellow.
