Do you watch Al jazeera when you're bored? I think in some other countries the customs are much different, as are their tv shows. While I don't know much of what happened, the mach 3 is a cool and fairly new (much newer than we view it). I don't know exactly what they were going after, but it could just be that in some countries women want their men shaved and maybe the men really don't listen to them. I'm not very good at the sociology of foreign countries but I definitely wouldn't be surprised if that was it. Looks like those girls must be famous in that country, maybe they're the kardashians of Al jazeera lol.
The background indicated India, so I doubt it was Al-Jazeera . . .
India is a huge market for P&G, and one of the last bastions of DE shaving in the world. Gillette introduced a new low-cost cartridge razor in India last year, in hopes of converting DE users to carts. Mach3 is just another step up the ladder for that market, and just like elsewhere, they enjoy much greater profits from the sale of carts vs. DE blades.
Oh well, I don't understand any of those languages. I've seen some stuff from Bollywood so I am not really surprised. I'm just surprised that they didn't pick up that huge razor and start singing and dancing, with 300 people behind them that just appear out of nowhere.
I guess either they made the Mach3 more affordable or they are marketing toward the higher end clientele in India. Either way, more money in the works for P&G.
the lady with lather on her face...i think she said something like "laziness" then "so theres no reason for___ not to shave" couldn't make out what the ___ was. the cartoon lady at the end was kind of creepy though
She says: there's no excuse got him not to shave.
When i used to ask him to shave he'd say he eat lazy. But now with the mach three being available & affordable at 125 rupees only there's no excuse for him not to shave. The height of laziness.
There's no excuse for him not to shave.
Its quite obvious they're targeting the hundreds of millions of lower class or whatever politically correct term it is now.
It says 'Gillette India' on the wall behind them.
I think it's aimed at middle class men and the newly affluent who don't want to use the 'Guard' razor which is aimed at poorer working classes.
I also think I caught "underarm" in the discussion, so I may be targeting women as well.
To me the Mach III feels like a razor on training wheels.. kind of what turns me off them... This whole advertising campaign about using girls to show the product doesn't make a lot of sense to me... They don't explain anything other than that apparently lazy men don't shave.
It's vanity, they don't need to show how it works if everyone thinks the only cool thing is the mac. People are going to want it because they'll think they need it to get girls. Girls want them to shave so badly that they parade around with shaving cream on.
The commentary is comedy on this one...and yes, they're trying to phase out DE shaving here. I went to quite a few drug stores here in Mumbai yesterday, including in one of the poorest parts of town, and many had very little or no wet shaving supplies. I think I'll have to hit 20-30 stores to get what I want while I'm here!
