Gillette Advertising Old Type Sets

Hey all together,

I have a question but at first i want to show you 2 examples. One topic of my new collection is Advertising Old Type Sets. In the 1920s Gillette promoted the company with Advertising Sets to spread it out and make it more popular. I have still 2 of such sets.

The first one is a standard pocket edition of the ball end set in gold of the Mount Royal Hotel in Montreal which i bought from a retired staff of it. This set was given to the gasts who stayed in the suits.

The second set is a beacon set in gold of the Ararat Temple in Kansas which is a Temple of the Shriners where their have congrasses, circuses and other events. The Shriners are Freemasons with popular members like Benjamin Franklin, Harry S. Truman, Gerald R. Ford or Edwin Aldrin ... this set also marked with the Shriners emblem

Does anyone have another sets which was given to organisations, hotels, restaurants, institutions or something like else? Maybe photos too?

Thank you very much
best regards
michael

I used to have an old type with Tiger Brand advertising on it. It wasn't something that could have been just engraved on the cap. The cap was actually made with a strip of it missing on top, and in there sat the advertising.

Here it is, sorry no before pics. You can still see the horizontal line where the advertising area starts.
