What's new

Gillette 7 O'Clock or Lord Click ?

I need another razor. It's been weeks since I last bought one.

I have 8 razors already but none in plastic. So to complete my collection and for fun and fashion I decided that I need a new plastic razor. Besides I hear that chicks go for guys with plastic razors.

Would you pick a Gillette 7 O'clock or a Lord Click ? It doesn't have to be the best razor ever - just better than the other one.

Also, who's the low cost source including shipping ?

I know that the 7 O'Clock blades work much better for me than the Lord blades. Worlds apart, really. If I had to have a plastic razor, it would be the Gillette.

I like the Feather Popular, and it's pretty cheap. Not all plastic, the head is metal and it's a terrific shaver.

This is a nice alternative. Better than the all plastic razors I ever used which are a Dorco (PL-510) and the Wilkinson Classic (a Treet actually). Thanks to the metal top part balance and weight improved a lot (compared to the Dorco) and metal glides over the skin more easily. There is a review on this one here on B&B. Still the L6 or Smart by Lord are much better. The ones you picked to choose from are both not really worth buying IMO.

I have tried the wilkinson, boots own brand and feather portable plastic razors, the feather gives a nice shave, though looking at that cheap lord................

The Gillette is out of the Indian subcontinent which doesn't have the best reputation for razors.
Interesting. The 7 O'Clock blades I've used were from Russia (non-platinum ones). I have a package of the platinum ones, and they are from India. I wonder if it's going to give me a different shave than the regular 7 O'Clock blades I've used. I didn't even notice that this plastic one is from India.

I've never bought one of these, but this one seemed interesting...

I found it after a thread on B&B led me to their site:001_cool:

I think it's cool because it has a metal head and looks like it's being sold for about the same as the all plastic ones.

That looks identical to the Boots DE razor which I like a lot.

That's what I thought of when I first read "7 O'clock razor." I'm pretty sure it's just a Tech with a plastic handle. If I were in India and needed a new razor, I'd have no problem going with this one.

I already purchased from this vendor the same Lord razor.
I got it with the safety bar broken, he sent it loose in a paper envellope.
Communication is terrible also he dont understand much english.

Buy it from a reputable vendor from within the US instead:

Shoebox actually has a whole selection of Lord Razors:

I have bought from Shoebox before, and he is an excellent vendor with quick service. :tongue_sm

+1

That is the late model Tech Head on a plastic handle. Pretty good quality razor from what I have read.

Thanks for all the replies.

For what it's worth I already have a Lord Tech razor (with an aluminum handle). I just thought that the totally plastic Lord Click (or Gillette equivalent) would be kind of fun.

Looking at the ShoeBoxShaveShop site I see that the Lord Super is another plastic razor choice. Any opinions on that one versus the Lord Click ? It looks kind of like a Tech equivalent in plastic.

I've tried an Indian made Lazer Click razor. Might be the same as the Indian made Gillette Click. Very similar one piece plastic design with moulded hinge and clasp head. The results were good. Moderately mild. I used US Personna blades. If weight is a consideration, it should be noted that they weigh almost nothing. However, they are wery well engineered. The head holds the blade firmly and evenly, with no play. I no longer have it. They seem semi disposable, so I never really put the longevity of the hinge to the test.

That is the same razor as the racer (one of the Lord-brands) that was linked in an earlier post. It has a metal top part and doesn't shave bad at all.
