Tried the old type 3 piece again this morning. First time I used it I had a store brand blade in it and it was a little rough going ATG on the neck. The 3 piece seems to need a little more attention to angle than the SS.
Popped in a new red personna blade and paid attention to the angle, and took a little more time than the zip zowie I do with the SS. Turned out to be a great shave! I gave my neck a bit of a rest today and only did 2 WTG passes and didn't do a ATG. Did ATG on other spots though. Got DFS on the neck and BBS everywhere else. After about 6 hours I can only feel a tiny bit of hair rubbing the fingers ATG on the cheeks, and none in some spots. Neck has a bit of hair you can feel but really can't see. Just as good or better than the quickie I do with the SS.
There's a little bit of "cool factor" in using something that's almost 100 years old and still works like it was intended to.
