ATG on Neck

Recently purchased the feather artist club ss and proguard blades.
The combination is quite forgiving and luckily I don't have nick yet, only some red dots or some sting with alum block.
With some patient I can get BBS on most part of my face but I have trouble getting it on the neck.
The hair growth on my neck is W-E so I need E-W shaving direction for ATG.
But I can't find the good angle to shave in this direction with artist club ss.
The video in wiki demonstrate this way probably is the closest direction I see to shave E-W at the neck.

Is it possible to go for multiple NS/SN (XTG) with skin stretching and get no feeling touching against the grain?

I also bought few gillette super click (newbie to DE) recently and use the accompanied super thin blade.
It's quite easy to get BBS with DE on the neck. Quite impressive with the performance though it's ultra cheap.
Seems to be a great way to introduce wet shaving to friends with it.

I think it should be, yes. It may take a few months of practice though.

I agree that it is very difficult to do E-W / W-E on the neck. For me, that would be XTG, which is what I would really prefer to do, but the contours of the neck make it tough. So, I actually go straight to sliding N-S strokes, which are directly ATG. With a safety razor this would be an absolute disaster for me, but with a shavette I get enough reduction from the WTG pass that I can do it, provided I keep the angle very shallow.

If I were you, I would also try angling the razor as though you were shaving directly E-W / W-E, but moving it diagonally downward in more of a 45° stroke. That gives you a nice slicing stroke, but be careful - if you go too much downwards instead of across, it won't be just the whiskers that get sliced!

Multiple passes going in the same relative directions will, most likely, exacerbate irritation. Maybe you get used to it, maybe not.
Learn to sweep scythe stroke. Don't sweat perfection in BBS... shaving is supposed to be enjoyable, not frustating due to unrealistic expectations.

As suggested above, I'd suggest trying a more sweeping curved/'scythe'-like stroke of the blade - I don't go fully ATG with my straight but in this sort of half clockwise (or counter, depending on hand and spot) manner can end up with a BBS overall pretty quickly, when the old rattler grind is well stropped.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the above suggestion.
J hook did help at some area.
I find holding the artist club ss with blade facing inward and handle outward is also good to shave the neck area.
The lips on the SS did provide similar function as guard and force the curved area getting flatter.
I'm satisfied with the shave yesterday.

This^^^

I stopped looking for the BBS shave awhile ago. It wasn't easy though because when you get it, it's a great feeling. But it often came at the price of irritation or nicks and cuts, not to mention the time it takes. So IMHO it's not really worth chasing, especially if you shave everyday because you really can't see the difference between just a good shave and a BBS anyway. Your neck probably looks fine and just as good as the BBS parts of your face, but it just doesn't feel like it.

Indeed...there's no difference unless you press against the grain with the finger...
It's just a bit of satisfaction when achieving it but don't really make a difference.
