GFT Coconut Oil Soap HELP!

OK, I so want to love this soap but can never seem to get a lather with it. Every time I try it dries on my face within 90 seconds and I have tried everything!

I have used boar brushes, badger brushes, bowl lather, face lather, hot and cold water, tap and distilled water, a little water and a lot of water and its the same every time and I need to add a cream to the mix to finish my shave.

I do great with every other soap I have so I assume it is something to with this soap specifically.

So help me here folks am I missing something? or is it just me and should I give up on this one?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

If you do a search for trumper's soaps on here, you'll see how this problem is pretty common. If you recently bought the soap, you likely have a dud, so it's not you. Trumper soaps made up until 2009 were really good. If you have the box, there's a 5 or 6 digit number on there. the last two digits tell you the year it was made. Anything 10, 11, 12 will likely be a crappy soap, although some have gotten decent lathers depending on scent. I have a Eucris that is horrible and the lather is airy and disappears. Will serve as a good bath soap.

Get yourself something from DR Harris if you want to go English. Or go the Italian way and get something from C&S. I was luckly to get into the world of B&B and have plenty of good Trumpers soaps, but I did pick up a dud along the way.

It's not you my friend.

Get some Haslinger or Mike's coconut and use the Trumpers in the shower.

Trumpers used to make decent soap. No more.

I've tried it in combination with the cheapest supermarket cream that is available (Balea for 65 cents), and the combination of Balea lather and GFT scent is very good.

But of course it is a shame that an English soap like GFT needs a low end cream to produce a really good lather. On its own, the lather is workable (I face lather with a boar brush) but not outstanding.

The cream version is outstanding. If you like the scent that could be an option in the future.
