Would you be interested in a 2-Band Wee Scot

Long story short Mark of Vulfix told me that the best bet would be to work through a vendor for an order of (at least) 50 of these Wee Beasties. I don't have a price yet, because I suppose it would depend on the number needed.

Oh no! There are 2 Nos!

I forgot to ask, but could you guys please reply with what you would pay for such a brush? Obviously there is going to be a lot of interest difference based on price...

I'd be interested if the price point were in the neighborhood of $50. Given that the Wee Scot can be had for around $40 (depending on the vendor), a 20% premium for two band super sounds about right.

You may want to contact bullgooseshaving.com. I know that they have successfully had some customized Simpsons brushes made for them.

Add me to the list of interested parties, please. $50 sounds fair, but I guess I might pay a little more for a super-cool brush.

I'd pay 50 bucks for a two band Wee Scott.

Edit: Hopefully this thread doesn't get shut down. I don't think it should since you're not necessarily doing a group buy or requesting money ahead of time.

Obligatory Group Buy warning in 3...2...1...

Gauging interest seems fine to me personally at this point, but if this becomes a vendor thing, it needs to move to the vendor corner, subject to that part of the site's restrictions on solicitation and posts. If it's a group buy thing, the steps in the link above need to be followed.

it is sort of amusing to me that people are voting 'no' to having a 2-band wee scot.

assuming the magic number of 50 interested people is reached and all goes well, the buy should go through anyway, whether 200 people vote 'no' or not. if you don't want one, why vote? :001_rolle

I voted no. Wee scots are more a novelty than a usable brush.

Not true. I use mine at least as much as my Duke 1 and more than my Rooney 1/1 Super.

And I think that since I paid $35 for my Wee Scot, $50 for one it 2-Band seems more than fair to me. After all, it is a small brush.

I can go with it being a novelty brush. When or If the two band Scot rolls out, I can just hang the other one from my rear view mirror to show my shaving prowess or put it on one of those little bobble stands so it shakes on the dash like a hula girl.

With 29 positive responses (price pending) in less than 10 hours of poll, I went ahead and sent contact emails to a few vendors to gauge their interest in the venture.

Nothing has officially been set up yet, but it sure would be nice to make this dream come true. It is amazing what a small group in a dedicated community can do.

Viva la 2-band Wee Scot!

Bad News.

Vulfix (after talking to me for a week about it) told me today that a Wee Scot in 2-Band is "not feasible". I have no idea why not, but there it is.

Blah.

I got an email from Mark clarifying the problem with such a small brush using 2-Band hair. I wrote the first post in kind of a huff because I was annoyed, but I greatly appreciated his explanation of the issue and thought I would pass it along.

To expand for clarity … the hair type is rather stiff at the base which makes hand tying the knots very problematic, particularly when the knot diameter is so small & loft of the head so short.

Trusting this goes some way to offering an explanation.

Best regards,

Mark
