Furminator ??

Ordered one from Amazon last night along with the spray (no water) shampoo for between grooming. I brush my yellow lab every night -- he's still losing the extra bathing suit.

You will not believe how much hair you will get off your lab using this thing. It will just keep coming and coming until there is a pile on the floor nearly as big as the dog.

we have basset hounds and use it all the time. It drastically reduces shedding if you use it often. The liquid stuff however is useless just get the brush and you will be pleased with the results.

Yep, we use one on our lab and it is really impressive how much hair you get out. Of course, if your lab is like ours 5 minutes after you think you're done she's shedding like crazy again.

Ain't that the truth. I'm convinced a typical lab produces at least twice its own weight in dog hair yearly.

Yup, works great. Although I have never tried the waterless version. The furminator brush is the very best pet brush there on the market.

We also have one for Duke, our Airedale Terrier and it works great!
Airedale's are suppose to have 'rough' coat and this tool will take the undercoat right off.

I've been reading about this brush a lot lately. Has anyone ever used it on dogs with a heavy undercoat? We have Samoyeds, lots of fur to deal with this time of year. Do the blades need replacing often? Are they available through pet stores or is Amazon the best source? Thanks

The teeth are very strong and thick metal, i doubt you would ever need to replace them.
I used mine on my corgi it does ok, I think an undercoat rake does a better job for my corgi's coat type. YMMV with pet brushes too I suppose.

Best prices I have seen are on-line, been many years since I got mine so don't recall where.

I bought the smaller version for our 3 cats. It works pretty well, though I find you and the cat are best served by a light touch. The cats actually enjoy a regular brush more, but this gets the extra fur out like nobody's buisness. So I start with the Furminator and follow with a traditional brush. Thumbs up!

We have a furminator as well. One of our cats kind of accepts it and the other goes absolutely stupid happy when we brush her with it. We get enough fur to make another cat by the end of it and there's a noticeable decrease in hair around the house if you use it regularly.

As a bonus, you can roll the hair into a cigar shape and give it to them as a toy. The only problem is that they try to eat it sometimes.

This confirms my suspicion that the FURminator is cutting fur in additional to pulling out loose fur. No, thanks. I'll stick to a brush for my cats.
