Fuller Brush

My Christmas find in an antique store. Paid $8.50 for this beautiful brush. Will be putting in a new knot. The base says "set in rubber". What precautions should I take with this? What can anyone tell me about this, other than about the Fuller Brush Co. ?

That's very similar to one I did a while ago. Just go easy on the sanding or not at all. The color of the handle, if it is like the one I had, is just topical and will sand off to a clear. I used a buffing wheel with a little polish which turned out fine.
