Fountain pen troubles abound

Well not really, but it made ya look

I've been sitting at my desk writing the rough draft of a strategic business plan, and writing the operations plan I have managed to run three pens dry. First, my Parker 51 Aerometric, I ran it out of Pelikan 4001 Royal blue. Second, my pilot VP loaded with Mont Blanc Midnight Blue didn't make it more than two pages of the legal pad before it ran out. Lastly, my wonderful Waterman Hemisphere Deluxe just ran out of Private Reserve Midnight Blue. I'm not sure if any of those pens were very full when I started and they don't hold a massive amount of ink, but I'm on my second legal pad of the night and I did refill the VP last night before bed since it's the one I use the most during the day. I just switched to my trusty Lamy 200 that I refilled with Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black yesterday, if I run its massive ink chamber out I'm going to bed.

Now you might ask why I didn't just refill my first dry pen? Well my wife's cat has been sitting in my lap for the last two hours and I really don't want to recreate the blue Mohawk tonight.

Don't know about the Waterman, but sounds like you need a bigger capacity pen!

The waterman uses their standard converter which is probably about .65ml -.75ml, it was almost full to begin with too. I just grabbed these pens out of my drawer as I needed them hoping to run at least one dry.

My daily carry is a pen case with the Waterman, a Lamy Safari and my Lamy 2000 with my VP in my pocket. I've never run out of ink at work, since I'm very careful about it.
