Found Vintage Wild Country AS

Was kickin' along at a flea market this morning and ran across a partial bottle of Avon Wild Country AS in the "Station Wagon" decanter
proxy.php

The decanter I found is missing the plastic "wood" piece but was about 1/3 full of the aftershave  I asked the guy how much and he said one dollar so I took it with me.

I almost used the AS after my shave tonight but I looked the bottle up on the internet and it said it was mfg between 1971-1973 so I thought I would save the AS and use it at whatever time I decide to use one of the '71 Gillette Spoiler blades which I have in my cabinet but keep putting off shaving with.
That would be cool to use both blade and AS produced when I was 1-3 years old in a razor produced 21 years before I was born!

Anyone dig the Wild Country??

It's in my rotation right now. Found a full bottle with the plastic part. Was going to pour out the AS and refill it with something else, but tried it just for kicks. Whoda thought Avon was so nice? Takes me back to my youth.

Edit: Currently looking for English Leather in the boot shaped bottle. Anyone?

If you like Wild Country, Etsy.com has listings of what APPEAR to be large amounts of the novelty decanters that are still full.

I say APPEAR to be full bottles because some of the listings aren't 100% clear. Would probably be best to contact sellers to confirm.

Wild Country used to be one of my favorite after shaves. I've still got a couple of the decanters; empty, unfortunately...

I actually have a couple of full avon bottles. I can't decide to use them or leave them be. I've got Spicy, Rally, and I think Thai Winds. These are all pretty easy to come by.

...that was the first scent somebody gave me as a present, early 70's, wow, great memories of her...

Wild Country A/S and Cologne are quality products. Glad to see they're getting their 15 mins. of fame here at B&B.

A/S junkies--Wild Country is worth seeking out. Doesn't smell cheap and is a good value. Plus the new stuff smells as good as the older stuff.

Still in a glass bottle too!!!

I was in a liquidation store this past summer and picked up 5 Avon aftershaves. I didn't know what I was getting into... but they were cheap enough to try. Besides, if they were really bad, I could mix them up with some Tahiti Treat and have a good old street party.

Avon is not Penhaligons by any means, but not all that bad either. I get a kick out of the retro cheezy bottles too.

Selections include: Oland x2 (Canada Goose bottle and some sort of genie bottle), Everest (Arctic King polar bear bottle), Blend 7 (Whale Oil Lantern bottle), and Wild Country (Capital building bottle).

I like Wild Country the most. It has a Old Spice/Pens Racquets vibe to it.

Thinking of Avon... In memory of my Grandfather, tomorrow I am going to shave with my Noxema cream and splash on some Avon aftershave. Good memories.

I have been wanting to get a bottle of the AS (I have the balm, but I am not a balm person), but I am hoping for a sale as we get closer to Christmas. That or maybe somebody will get it for me for Christmas (sending telepathic thought waves to SWMBO).
