What's new

Found, Dunhill & Longchamp Pipes

One is a light-colored Shell Briar Apple/Billiard bow with similar stem; the other is a Straight Grain but smaller and in better condition although both are in good condition or better. All Longchamps appear to be in good condition. Think I may buy the Dunhills, shame to let some one who wouldn't appreciate them get them.

If you can get them for a good price I'd go for it. Personally I would never spend they money on a new one and it would have to be a very good deal on an estate for me to buy one. IMO there are great smoking pipes that cost 1/2 or 1/3 of the price.

Worked in a Tobacconist store years ago and I can tell you if those Dunhills are pre 60s buy them ASAP.

They don't make Dunhills like they use to.

How can I tell if they are 60s?

What I meant was pre60s.

It has been ages since I dealt with pipes.

I don't have first hand details to give you but do some web searches on estate pipes etc.

What I do know is pre60s Dunhills were made to some of the highest standards. When I worked at this shop the collectors would go wild over first half 20th century pipes.

Good Luck

Thanks to all of you for the information.

Root Briar: 738 F/T 4 R; a 4 after England indicates 1964, Acorn? bowl.
