I decided to check out two antique stores on my lunch break today, to see if I could find any safety razors or straights. First one had a Fat Boy including its plastic case, but they wanted a little bit more than I wanted to spend. At the second store, I found a nice looking Gillette. The price was right ($20), and it looked to be in pretty good condition, so I picked it up.
I cant find any serial number or code or anything like that. I can only see the Gillette trade mark and "Made in USA" on it. I don't have a picture of it at the moment, but it looks exactly like this picture. Everything's there, including the case and blade holder.

If that's correct, it looks like I'm the proud owner of an Old Type! Mine is just a little more golden looking. There are still a couple of "PAL" and "American Eagle" blades inside, along with some single edged "GEM" blades.
Tomorrow, I'll hit the pawn shops and see if there's anything good there.
