Did you know that you can also use Scrubbing Bubbles to determine if vintage plastic is bakelite? A little Scrubbing Bubbles on a qtip rubbed on the plastic will most often come up yellow with bakelite, whereas other types of plastic will not have a reaction. Neat, huh? One caveat: it's been said that this test does not work very well on black bakelite, nor on bakelite that has been lacquered.
On a similar note, that toothbrush can clean your teeth.

Funny, but true... The other day I was cleaning a razor in the sink and ended up cleaning the sink and then the shower! It works great
