I’m fond of tobacco scented soaps, let us know how you find the Van Der Hagen.
Nice! Hopefully a sign of more scent variety in the future.
Looking forward to the report. From the VDH website, it looks like this one (and the Eucalyptus version) have a higher glycerin content than the regular Luxury soap. I’ll be interested to hear how it compares.

I shaved without any prep. I loaded my wet Omega from the puck and bowl lathered. I don’t think I must have loaded long enough because it didn’t end up with a lot of lather, but what I had let me get a perfectly easy and smooth shave. In fairness to the soap I haven’t used a glycerine heavy shaving soap in quite some time so I just be off with my technique.
As I said, the lather I had was usable, protective, and slick to shave with. For a shave with no prep it went very well. I had no nicks, no cuts, or irritation. I actually look forward to using it again.
The scent is pleasant, but not heavy. I found it just about perfect in strength.
I may test lather it again tomorrow just to get the loading right. It is so inexpensive I don’t see the downside.

Thanks for the heads up. I need more soap like I need a hole in my head. But I know I'm going to buy some.

It’s very inexpensive. It was $5.29 on Amazon
