Floris splashes

I see that they contain such goodies as witch hazel and glycerin, and I was hoping someone can tell me how they rate on the skin care scale (with "alcohol and fragrance only" splashes on one end and Spieck/Musgo type spshes on the other).

I've only tried the Santal AS and it was absolutely wonderful stuff! Great scent and great soothing qualities. I tend to go for splashes like Proraso or Floid but the Floris was definately the best AS i've used.

As many of you know who frequent the BST forum, I've been around the block testing shaving products over the past few years. Although there are many items that seem equal in performance/quality, it is my opinion that the Floris aftershaves are at the very top of the heap. They are very refreshing and soothing. They contain no menthol, but I've moved away from menthol in general. As you note, they do contain such goodies as witch hazel and glycerin. They are far superior to the aftershave splashes of Trumper and T&H. Those products are essentially just fragrance and alcohol. With regard to a comparison with such aftershave heavyweights as Musgo and Speick, the competition becomes more intense. But even with these, I believe Floris wins. I like the scent of Musgo but not the stickiness. Speick is good, but the scent doesn't do much for me. The scents of Floris are superior in my opinion (I haven't tried Elite). Lastly, the whole Floris "experience" is more luxurious, even down to the packaging. I will add the obligatory YMMV.
