Florida Water

Florida Water: is it cologne or aftershave?

Says cologne on the bottle but I have my doubts based on the price and the opening on the plastic bottle.

I think this and many like products actually blur the lines between these categories.
For instance, most (all?) of the clubman line are labeled as colognes, but commonly used as aftershave splashes.
Another good example of this line blurring is Alt-Innsbruck cologne.

It's kind of a strong toilet water, if you ask me. A multi-purpose lotion, rather like bay rum. As an aftershave, I like to apply it after rubbing several drops between my wet palms.

No matter what you call it, the scent is extremely short lived. On me I get at max a half hour out of it, but maybe closer to 15 minutes.

Hi

Its made by Murray and Lanman, an "old" rose after shave.
Its cheap, short lived.I have used many times as well.Better to use than Taylor Bond lavendar after shave, or DR Harris rose as well.
They last as long as any after shave, the florida water.

I use another one, Monetti and Roberts, about 20 bucks for 100ml.
It is an old Italian after shave.
I am a fan of rose, during, and after shaving. An old British way to use rose.
If you want to step up to another, Santa Maria Novella does a rose water for about 40 bucks.
They are all for after shave, toning the skin etc.

You may want to try Thayers rose with aloe with hazel.
Cheap, 9 bucks for a big bottle, if fan of rose.
Enjoy

Nice day

Tried Florida Water this morning. Used a big ol' handful to face, neck, and chest. All gone 4 hours later ... liked it while it lasted.

Love M&F florida water. Love to splash it on when I get home from work. Just settles me in for the night. And it's so cheap here in the UK. I'm paying a mere £2 a bottle with ambulance mans' discount.

Gentlemen

Stu McB, I agree. You cant beat the price. And a nice british rose scent. Very light.
Heck, my friends, makes a nice gin a tonic!

Enjoy your weekends my friends

Florida Water, according to Voodoo and Santeria authorities, is also very good for purification rituals or for providing a welcoming environment for various spirits, saints, and demi-gods. So it is truly a multipurpose product. Plus the label looks cool. I am told that there is a lot of occult symbolism in the label design. I was not able to get details on that, though.

Very pleasant to pour a hearty gluggle into your bath water, if you enjoy a hot soak.
