Have been DE shaving for over a year now and for the past couple months I have been sticking with milder razors like DE89 and Tech. In the mean time acquired a Fatip and R41 but never used them due to fear from reading all the posts and wanting to improve my technique initially. Having become aware of not using any pressure and also the blade angle, I thought I made enough progress to try the Fatip this evening as I had ample time on hand. Used KMF and Proraso with the idea of creating a super lather, but don't think came anywhere close to what I imagined
. Loaded Fatip with a IP and with all the respect and remembering to keep the blade at a very shallow angle (handle sticking out of face) went ahead cautiously. End result - smooth shave with no nicks or weepers. I am now encouraged to continue to shave with this razor.
In fact I am already thinking about soon progressing to R41.
