What's new

First time using soap today!

Up until now I have only used creams. My first soap was QCS lemon grass. I have it in the wooden bowl they sell on their website. I think I prefer to use soap after very little irritation and zero cuts. My one question is what do I do with the wooden bowl and all the soap that I agitated while loading my brush? Do I wipe it out? Do I need to leave the lid off and let it dry? Or should I just seal it up right away?

I leave the lid off and let it dry for a day. No need to wipe the excess soap away, just make sure to pour out the excess water.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just don't want to do anything to shorten the life span of the soap since it is so great.

Once I've loaded my brush, I tend to remove the remaining soap on the surface with a finger and add it to the brush tips. Once I've finished shaving, the surface is already fairly dry, so a quick wipe with a towel, a further wait of half an hour to let the soap dry further, then I replace the lid. This way there is no wastage and it ensures adequate loading both directly and indirectly.

I usually squeeze the lather out of the brush and put it back on the puck. I then just cover it with the lid until I use it again.

^+1 That's exactly what I do.

I follow the routine of David and edgerunner with a few different steps. I run the side of my brush around the lip of the wooden bowl to pick up the overflow. After shaving I also give it a quick wipe with a towel and let it dry for a while depending on my schedule for that day. I then replace the lid and all is well.
