First Shave With Toggle

The nice gent who sold me the Toggle on the BST the other day sent me a message wanting to know how my first shave with the razor had gone. Here's what I wrote in reply:

"Got my shave in late today. Had some stuff to do this AM but just used the Toggle and WOW- got a great shave! BBS everywhere, no irritation on my neck. Two or three tiny weepers that went away immediately on my neck. Probably the closest, best shave I've had in the past month of wet shaving. I set the Toggle on 4, thinking that might be about right and similar to the 40s Aristocrat I've mostly been using. It was just slightly more aggressive than the Aristocrat, but shaved beautifully.

Great shave, the razor may not be a looker but it sure SHAVES."

I used a Red Pack Personna today, and super lathered some Tabac with Prorasso and used my Ever Ready brush with the finest knot from Golden Nib. Finished with a splash of Witch hazel and Old Spice.

I think my technique has gotten to the point where I can get a DFS usually or better with any of the razors I've used lately- 40s Aristocrat, NEW head Bull Mastiff, '47 Super Speed.

Using the Toggle was really neat. Such a unique razor. I'm just glad it shaved so well- nice when something lives up to your expectations.

It's a cool razor. It shaves a tiny bit better than other Gillette adjustables. I got a shaver grade one too and had it replated in Rhodium.
