First set of scales

This is my work in progress first set of scales.

It's either Bubinga or rosewood, I don't recall which as the two wood stocks I had looked very similar.

I wanted to post them to see if anyone had suggestions or comments before I pin it together. I would like to do a little more hand sanding, and still haven't decided how I am going to finish it so I welcome any suggestions.
Thanks for looking.

Looking good brother. Glad you finally got a set going. Looks good. My only suggestions are to make them a little thinner, but I know you have limited tools. I have finished bubunga in CA and oil before and they both look great. The bubunga I had was highly figured so in CA or high gloss poly it really glowed.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try to thin them down as much as I can. I'm still amazed how thin you made those ebony scales for my M&W, especially after looking at the starting material you sent me.
Can I use Oil (either BLO or Tung) then wipe on poly? I think I will save the CA finish for sometime down the road.

I did a rescale recently in maple. I used Krylon Spray Acrylic Gloss for the finish. It is quick, as you can apply five coats in about an hour. I am satisfied with the results but unsure about the durability.
