My pipe made it here today. Tried some Captain Black Gold. I really liked the smell but definitely didn't pack it tight enough. Liking the pipe more than my cigars. Speaking of cigar, here was my previous smoke.

It may not be your packing technique, "tight" is not a word you should use. Captain Black can be quite moist. You might want to try taking the amount you wish to smoke and laying it out on a plate for 15 or so minutes and see if that helps!
How hard is it to keep that B&B Essential lit?

Funny you mention that. It was windy as hell last night, but I wasn't going to let that stop me, so I lit it in a porta potty (classy!). Nobody said anything; maybe one of the perks of being the rank I am as well lol. Really happy I pulled the trigger on this!
