Hey
So I got the TGQ cream and cologne in Leatherneck.
The cream: Thick almost like a paste more than a cream. Slightly hard to lather, but the lather is thick and cushioning in the way that MWF is. Must be the rich fats of the tallow. Good protection, and pretty slick. The scent is very warm with lots of leather with notes of vanilla, with an almost tonka bean feel. The dry down brings out a powdery warm.
The cologne seems to be slightly different from the cream. The cologne is more linear seems at first test to be more linear than the cream which I find odd. The cream seems to have a bright top note or two, while the cologne is very, very warm all the way through without any bright notes.
Subjectively Ive come to enjoy colognes that have a sharper quality to them, however I dont have a single leather in my collection I think Im just not used to this type of scent.
Overall, the products are of a very good quality that feels polished like the 3T's, but has a unique feel that isnt mass produced. I feel that this is what make TGQ different from other companies. Fully developed products, but they dont have alot of the "artistian" quirks Ive found in some small companies. They were clearly made in the "old" way, and it feels authentic.
