Although I'm not new to wet shaving I'm extremely pleased with the result of my first shave with my new tools I received today. I used a no name boar brush and DE razor in the past with some cheap soap. I got myself a Edwin Jagger 89L and a EJ Silver Tip Badger (Large). Put a Astra Superior Platinum blade in it and used it with some Taylor of Old Bond Street Rose Shaving Cream.
Got a really really good shave out of it. Did 3 passes, not a single cut. Glad that someone pointed this forum out to me, it's a whole different experience shaving with good material. And the advice on how to build better lather and shave information helped me out a lot. For many years I had a very short beard (about 1 - 2 millimeter) and today I decided to remove it all. A new look for a new year, my wife loves it. And the smell of the new soaps and creams please her also. Thanks guys for all the great info! Ron
