So, I am out of town for work, but the hair was getting long (for military). I did not have clippers with me, and cannot purchase them as I am on sabbatical. "I'm bored, and this is not ideal, but let's do this." Short version: educational, did not die.
At home, I will just cut it with clippers or my old electric razor, and have read that step one is to cut close with those to start. So, -now- I know why the clippers are useful--they save hours of shaving tiny spot and washing out the too-long hair. It took much longer than I expected. Used my Weishi TTO Superspeed clone--my travel razor--with an Astra that was a few shaves in. Swapped it out halfway through. Used soap, but I think I will try cream next time.
So, I nicked myself three times, on pimples or bumps on my head. I wasn't expecting flat, but didn't know it was so damn lumpy. I found an ATG pass first more effective, especially on the back of the head. Some irritation. Close shave, but
-not- glassy smooth like I wanted.
Do you use a pair of mirrors or work the back of the head by touch? Cream or soap? Any other tips?
