First canned shave creme purchase in 2 years.

Toothpick

Needs milk and a bidet!
Well I did it. I bought some canned shave creme. I was in the shaving aisle sniffing all the aftershaves when it called my name. "psst...hey....Jason....look up here...how bout some Barbasol? Imagine the fun you can have with me for only $1.29!" Well I did it, my first canned shave creme purchase in almost 2 years.

For the simple fact that it is cheap and I've never used it.

Any lathering techniques I should know about with this? :tongue_sm

The trick with that would be holding it close to your hand, in the sink with warm water running, push down on the dispense button and move your hand, continue until sink is full or can is empty whichever comes first :p just playin
I keep a can of this in my desk drawer with 3 disposable bic razors for just incase

That's the fun I'm talking about!

Rumor has it that if you freeze it overnight, you'll be able to open the can without it spraying all over. From there, you can take the frozen core and stick it in a buddy's (read: enemy's) car seat. Once it starts to thaw, the fun will begin.

I think I saw this on Mythbusters once.

I found a can of Barbasol in a thrift store a few months ago for .25¢ I had it in my hand for a while then thought... What am I doing, I'll never use this so I put it down. That's as close to canned shave cream as I have ever come. Started with a mug, soap, and brush when I was 15 and that's all I knew how to use.

You know that you are going to have to tell everyone how it works for you don't you?

So I went ahead and used it for tonights shave. What in the world!? It was pretty darn good.

I used proraso pre/post under it and before I applied the lather I put a light splash of water on my face/neck.

Brand new Feather blade in a red tip SS.......holy smokes, is this really cutting my hair? Couldn't even feel it.

It's got me thinking.... either I am doing something wrong with my soap/creme or this stuff is a darn decent canned goo.

I think I'm going to start focusing more on my lathering skills. I'm glad I bought this stuff, really an eye opener.

Best part of the shave was I soaked my brush! And it wasn't until I was ready to apply the Barbasol that I realized "shoot, I don't need the brush"

If you're going to use canned foam, Barbasol is the one.

Its the only goop that still gets nodding respect around B&B.

Yup! must have been in the process of writing it up as you were writing this.

I have a yellow can of Barbasol (w/ Lanolin). I may or may not use it when my brush hand feels lazy and it may or not work well and it may or may not make my skin feel silky smooth...:wink2:

Not all canned goo is total junk, and Barbasol is one of the better ones.

I beg to differ with those that think it is the top canned goo, though. This stuff is back and it beat every canned goo or gel I ever used by a country mile.

I had this in my hand as well today! but thought "nah, it's 5 bucks, I'll stick with my soap" then the Barbasol got me for a buck twenty-nine.

This is what happens when you spend 15 minutes in the shaving aisle playing with aftershaves.

And weird looks. But i'm sure we are all used to those anyways...
