Thanks! No it was a no-name brush I bought a few years ago on ebay.
The hair is great quality, but the handle had a very cheap finish on it that was flaking off.
So, that's the same knot then?

Yes, it's the same knot.
I used a mahogany stain and about 3 coats of polyurethane semi-gloss varnish. Both Minwax.
