First Birth Year - SS Flare

I picked up a Flare-Tip Super-Speed off the bay dated K-4, my birth year/quarter. It arrived today and I'm pretty psyched. It's pretty shiny, it looks in good shape. I've never had my hands on one of these before so I have a couple questions:

When the doors open, do they "fall" open, or are they "pushed"? These open freely but they seem to do so by gravity if I'm making any sense.

When the doors close, does the knob tighten or is it supposed to have a positive stop? This tightens, it feels firm, not sure if that's right though.

With all the SS's I've had in proper working order, when they are open, the doors are pretty "floppy", they have a good amount of play in them, they aren't held fully open by anymore than gravity. The knob just tightens, it doesn't have any specific "stop point". So long as it feels firm, and the silo doors don't jiggle/move when it's tightened closed, it should be fine.
