What's new

Finally got the R41 down.

Although I have had this razor for a while now most of the time I used my HD or slant. After reading countless threads about the R41 I was determined to use only this razor.I am so glad I took the time needed to use it correctly.I can see what all the hype is.This razor IMO is nothing short of amazing. My skin feels so smooth after I shave. No nicks, weepers just a perfect shave. It goes to show us not to give up on a razor to quickly. It took a little more practice with the R41 but for me it paid off.Love this razor.

Some razors require some regular use and practice to use to their potential.

The R41 is a fabulous razor. Normally I alternate between it and the Feather. My other razors are used only when the whim strikes me.

To me the tricks to using the R41 properly is to use a straight edge mentality.

1. Use a sharp blade ( Astras and Feathers are my choice.

2. Be careful to use no pressure and allow the blade to do all the work. I just steer the razor and maintain the correct cutting angle.

3. Excellent beard prep and lather.

By using the R41 exclusively for the first few weeks one develops the necessary muscle memory and technique to use this razor.
