Finally got the muhle r41 grande

Haven't posted in a while. Lots of things good and bad going on so sorry for not replying to my personal messages.

Anyway I was in the market for an OC and rather than go vintage I've gone for the brute that is the R41. I won't need to shave for 2 days as I've just done a BBS.

What I'm asking for is any advice or opinion on this razor. I will be using a Gillette yellow in the razor.

Any replies much appreciated.

Ummm, shave carefully? Maybe try only WTG and XTG to see where it gets you. Perhaps hold off on going ATG until you find out how your skin tolerates this razor.

+1 Unless you have leathery skin, this thing is a beast and not comfortable at all, for me, anyway. Good luck.

Indeed this is a mean razor, and it'll take a bit of time to get it down. Be sure to use a VERY light pressure, and allow your technique to develop slowly, don't try to rush things. Settle for a CCS for now, if you have any razor burn at all you're probably using too much pressure.

The angle takes some getting used to
It took me 4 or 5 tries to get it really dialled in,so be patient
Some find it's fussier on blades but I would advise adjusting your technique before you go swapping out blades

When you get it mastered it's quite a shave

It's an awesome razor. I've had mine for a month and don't really want to use anything else any more as nothing seems to be as close. I never thought I would be able to get away with just two passes before work and this past week I did just that - twice! I've even found it be a great razor with all sorts of different blades. Enjoy!
