Finally an Old Type

Out of all the razors I have acquired I have not found an Old Type at a decent price. The wait has ended.

I really don't need another Tech but it will make a nice PIF to a needy Newbie. The Gem Jr. will set right next to my 1912.

I saw that one on ebay. I was going to bid on it but I am at my monthly self-imposed spending cap!

That Old Type looks an awful lot like a gold razor my friend picked up for me yesterday. He found it and gave it to me in return for giving him a nice 1965 slim to get started with.

I will have to get pics of it up if I can tonight.

Great score, Scott (Great scott! Score!). I love the way Old Types shave. They're my go-to razor when I've skipped too many days and have a lot of growth to hack off.

I am partial to the open combs. My current go to is a custom from Bob. I can't wait to see how the old type performs.

I had an old type ball-end replated in nickel a couple of months ago. It turned out great and has become a favorite. I like the thought of getting good service from something that is 85 or 90 years old.

Good for you! The old type is also my favorite go-to razor. Especially good for getting under the nose and knowing just where the cutting edge is at if you wear a goatee or van-dyke.
