I've read the Feather reviews and comments.

I'd like to hear Feather comments specifically from people who use the same razors as I do. I normally use Feather or Super Iridium blades. I seldom get significant weepers and almost never get a cut unless I fall a sleep at the handle and slice. I do 3 pass shaves every day. WTG, XTG, ATG. I don't have a really heavy or tough beard, and my skin is not particularly tender. I usually use VanderHagen Soap, and finish with Alum and then an alcohol after shave.

I normally use a Futur set on 3 to 3-1/2. I get a good shave but a little irritation as evidenced by some burning when I finish with an alum bar.

My travel/occasional razor is a Mekur HD, which seems slightly milder than the Futur. It also gives me good shaves, but I think the handle is too short.

My ski cabin razor is a Merkur Progress also set on 3-3.5 Pretty much the same results as the Futur.

Recently, I have been experimenting with a Tech and a Feather Blade just to see how good a shave I can get with a really mild razor. The aren't bad, but I do have to make some extra clean up passes, and even though I end up with a pretty much BBS shave, I don't especially like using the Tech. It seems to ride right up over the lather some times.

Could a few of you Feather SS who also use(d) similar razor and blade combos to mine, let me know how you like it in comparison to the Merkurs, and the Tech.

I think the Feather SS is milder than my Futur set on 1 using an Iridium Super. Same with the Feather blade. The Feather SS does provide a very smooth shave and its balance and build quality are close to perfect. But it is a mild shaver. More aggressive than the Gillette Tech or even the Gillette Superspeed, but less aggressive than the Merkur Futur on set on 1.

Both are very good razors. If I was forced to go down to one razor, I would keep the Futur. It provides a great shave, and is adjustable. The Futur tends to generate extreme opinions. I happen to really like it while others have no use for it.

Of course, I don't have to settle for just one razor so for now I am keeping both!
