Feather AS-D-1 ?

Does the Feather AS D-1 Have a lot of play when placing the top head onto the bottom plate Before tightening to the handle? I can move mine back and forth and left to right, That's a lot of play Even after i place the blade in it. Is this Normal ?

I see some movement end to end....does not hurt anything. Also there is rotational play in the cap, but the curve of the cap allows the cap to be self centering as you tighten.

End to End only ? Mine moves in all for directions ? I find that alot of play even while blade is in it.. once you tighten there is no play, but then again with some much play how would i know if it tighten evenly ? Cause i have been getting inconsistent Shaves with it and sometimes one side is more aggressive then other side, so i find that a little strange :eek:/

Yes that does not sound good. With the blade installed and sighting down the handle at the under side of the head, you should see equal amounts of light between the blade edges and the safety bars.

I need a picture of what your describing, is it possible ? I would Greatly appreciate it, I'm about to right an Email to Feather :eek:/

I used to get some good shaves and lately it hasn't been so, Weird.

Look at the daylight between the blade and safety bars. I shot this with everything pushed off center (cap and blade). If I turn it with the cap down in the palm of my hand and tighten with the handle up it tends to self-center more.

Not very likely, but have you tried the same blades in another razor or tried a different batch of blades in the Feather, just in case it's a bad blades?

Ive gone ahead and Emailed Feather and see what they say about it ? Hope they would be willing to swap out the head . Ill keep you updated once i get a response from them back..

Be interesting to see what they say....hope you get this sorted. Any chance of going direct with the vendor?

I got this one on Ebay a while back, so vendor thing is out the window, but there product should serve as its warranty, although My Titan H1 takes the Cake for the shave i still have love for my Feather AS D-1.
