Favorite Fall/Winter Fragrance?

Hi Guys

I'm new to B&B regarding posting, however, I have been a lurker for a long time and love the community and information that is on this site.

That being said, I couldn't think of another group of people that would be better suited to get opinions from. I live in a colder climate and because of that, I tend to like heavier scents. I am a cologne collector with quite a collection and I'm looking to add a few new Fall/Winter items to my collection.

I'm about to order Encre Noir but I'd like to add a few more gems and I'm looking to you guys to help me place that order. Price is no object when it comes to my cologne so shoot out anything. All I ask is that you keep in mind that I'm looking for something for a cold climate and I like heavier, more powerhouse fragrances (Dirty English, Opium, Chanel Antaeus)

mazzolari Lui seems like it might be up your alley, Arso and Fumidus from Profumum are also excellent fall/winter frags IMHO.

I honestly cant speak in regards to similar fragrances to what you listed. But for a heavy in general winter fragrance I highly recomend YSL Body Kouros, L'Instant de Guerlain Extreme, Costume National Homme and Terre D'Hermes. The first three have been the big players in my winter rotation this year. Body Kouros gets me compliments damn near every time I wear it. Its a very 90's smelling gourmand and one of my personal favs. I get almost day to night longevity and sillage with it. I dont think I can say much about LIDGE that hasnt been said by almost everyone. Its amazing. Cocoa cocoa and more cocoa. Perfect for any occasion. Day to night longevity and sillage as well. Costume National Homme is the newest of my collection. I've had it for a little over a week there's been maybe one day that I havent worn it. Its woody, spicy and very classy. Only comes in EDP and its a steal for the price. Its very rich. By far best longevity and sillage of anything I've personally tried. My second day using it I actually applied way to much and had to jump in the shower to rinse off lol. And finally the lovely Terre D'Hermes. The only reason he isnt getting my attention this year is cause I have too many new ones I am trying. But its still great. Its generally said by most that if you like Encre Noire you'll most likely really enjoy Terre D'Hermes. Its a different type of vetiver and there a many more earthy notes going on with TDH but I can see why they are sometimes compared. This one as like the others, has all day longevity and sillage.

I've been going between M7, Chanel Antaeus, and Kouros. Kouros has become my new signature. Works unbelievably well with my body chemistry, & I've gotten more compliments with it than anything else. The fact that SWMBO loves it is an added bonus

It's funny that your last two are the only ones on the list that I have. I can definitely vouch for these two. L'Occitane Vetyver is what I wore for my wedding two years ago, and it's a scent I often use as a go to when I'm wearing cologne. I picked up a bottle of Aramis Havana on the BST last week, and I don't regret it one bit. It is an outstanding scent, and I'm wearing it right now. You can't go wrong with either of these.

JHL (a rich, warm, boozy and cinnamon frag that's made for chilly days)
Royal Briar by Carroll & Co. (a nice barbershop smell that's just a tad "oily" and works best in autumn/winter)
Domenico Caraceni 1913 (because of the way the notes pop like mad in the cold air)
CdeG Avignon (incense that's really outrageous, but would not work in warm weather)
Givenchy Gentleman (I think the rich, deep, dark pachouli works best on colder days)

Gucci PH 1 and Parfum d'Habit are two of my favorites. Been wearing a lot of LIDGE lately and Creed OS and loving it. Wife finally commented on TdH and gave it the thumbs down yesterday. Maybe I'll see what Red Vetiver does for her. I love the heady and complex cool weather scents so much more than my light and fresh summer stuff.
