Three? Just three? Wow. Favorite due to sheer enjoyment at the listening moment - Led Zeppelin, Beatles, and Pink Floyd. In a historic context -Elvis, Beach Boys, and Beatles.
I'm sure if I answer this again in twenty minutes, this would change completely, maybe Hendrix, Aerosmith, Mountain, Sha Na Na, Velvet Underground - all over the board. Definitely The Beatles somewhere in there.

# 3: Black Sabbath (not quite sure if they're truly classic rock. If not, my alternative would be The Eagles)

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band (I know the front man gets most of the credit.... but I'm sorry.... the E Street Band is one of the best Rock bands in history)
